A very awesome shoe for the whole family

by Vic — December 26, 2016 6:05:32 AM PST
My mother and I both have very high arches. So walking for extending periods make my feet ache. I ordered a black canvas pair for myself and wore them for about a week before I saw my mother. When she saw them, she loved them and I told her comfortable they were and how my feet hadn't hurt a bit since wearing them. So she had me order her a pair in the Black PU.
Absolutely love them and I want to order another pair in the black canvas come back in stock for back ups. Haven't worn another pair of shoes since receiving.

love these shoes

I read the reviews for these and found out they would fit a very wide foot and my husband wears a 9 1/2 4E so I decided to try a pair for him.....they fit and he loved them!!! please advertise that these fit a wide foot! I wanted a pair for myself even though I have a narrow foot, so I ordered a pair, put in a dr. scholls insert, and I loved them so much I ordered two more pair! thank you for making a comfortable shoe, I am finally pain free!

Love the boot but wish there was a low top.

by Sandy — December 18, 2016 6:25:32 PM PST
I have been having plantar fasciitis pain and work 8-10 hours a day on my feet as an RN. I found these boots to be wonderful to abate a good deal of the pain. But, I wish this same style came in a low top. I tried all the other low top styles and none of them work with my high arches. So I got 2 more pairs of these and modified one pair so they are now low tops. However I would MUCH rather buy them that way!

Finally a Comfortable Shoe!

I have been on a mission for over a year now to find a shoe that is soft! I have Plantar Fasciitis and the aching pain is miserable. I have been wearing my Soft Science shoes for a week now and the pain is completely gone! Thank you Engineers for designing a shoe that is truly comfortable each step I take.

Worn them for nearly a year now

by Claire — October 24, 2016 1:36:10 PM PDT
I've worn this shoe now for nealy a year and I still love it. I've had opportunity to give them a true workout in hiking through riverbeds with large limestone rocks/boulders. I'm still amazed how I cannot feel the rocks through this shoe. I've tried several expensive hiking boots that did not feel as good as the Terrain Ultra Lyte. These shoes are so light it feels as though I'm wearing socks, yet I have the support and protection of a boot. I love the material as it's cool in the heat. I like these shoes so much I ordered 4 more pairs. I just hope the new style is more narrow as these fit perfect.

Amazing feel

Once i finally got the sizing correct, These boots fit perfectly!
I just finished working a 8 hour day standing on my feet the entire time on a concrete floor and my feet feel "brand new"! The insoles are the best that i have had in shoes and i am a shoe junkie! This boot is so light weight that i did not realize i had a BOOT on. feels like i was walking on pillows or a memory foam mattress pad. There were times that i was just walking around for no reason just to feel the comfort of this boot....

Btw i purchased 2 pair and i am so glad that i did!

The Most Comfortable Work Shoe

by garcir2 — September 6, 2016 7:53:00 AM PDT
I am a clinician at a hospital and spend 8-10hrs on my feet and I had a pair of Doc Martin's that I swore by but The Terrain Ultra Lyte PU exceeded my expectations of comfort. I agree with some of the other statements that in order to get the shoe on and off you really have to loosen the laces especially because of the Trileon insole but I would not say this is a flaw. The 12 fit perfect as I usually wear an 11.5 U.S and my foot do not slide. With all that said you are not going to win any fashion points with this shoe as the people at work have come to refer to them as my comfortable but uglies. I'll take it.

Great Shoe

by Kike — July 19, 2016 4:30:16 PM PDT
Walked 110 miles in Camino de Santiago, up the Pirinees all the way to Logroño....7 days @ everage 14/18 miles day.....hard to put on...tab on the top rear part of shoe...the lightest and most comfortable ever...next year I''ll buy another pair for sure!

Sweet, but with 3 wishes

by Peter Larson — April 18, 2016 8:15:20 PM PDT
Really like this shoe. Fit and feel are right there. I have 3 wishes for this shoe.
1 - I like the reinforced upper heal, but add a pull tab on the top for putting on the shoe.
2 - All the canvas is reinforced except the upper 2/3 of the tong. Reinforcing this would be nice.
3 - Excuse my digression on this one. Your insole is awesome. It is one the items I love the most about your shoes. One of the things I like about it, it grabs your foot. Because of this, with the high top, it is hard to get into the shoe. I find myself taking the laces out of the upper 2 or 3 eyelets to put the shoe on because of the tackiness of the insole. Now understand, I don't want you to change the insole, that makes your shoes. I ask you to replace the upper two or three eyelets with lace hooks. It would make it easier to put on.

Thanks for listening,
Peter

Fits a 5E width!

by Just an old soul — December 1, 2015 7:11:05 AM PST
I love this shoe! I can't believe it fits my men's size 11.5, 5E to 6E foot! The only reason I tried this shoe is because their SKIFF was so wide. I was a little leary this shoe would fit as I've never seen it listed in any "extra-wide" shoe search in google. , (Softscience, you need to get the word out to the extra-wide foot world that you have a shoe that's a real competitor in super wide widths.)

I took out the footbed and inserted my custom orthotics plus one double thick spongy Dr. Scholls insert and it is so comfortable. I love the support it gives my ankles, too.

Downside: The laces are a pain in the arse but at the same time they allow you to make a custom fit around your foot to precision. So although a pain, a little patience will pay off in comfort.

For those with super wide feet the following info may be helpful:

I normally wear a size 11.5, 4E width in Asics Gel. I've tried Drew Trek in a 11.5, 6E and it was not as wide as this Terrain Ultra Lyte.

DIGI CAMO

by camo king — November 16, 2015 8:10:14 AM PST
Awesome fit, supportive but like walking on air, even over rocks and logs. Great cushioned bottom. The camo is great -- looks good and unique. Must better than my heavier boots. These are great, glad I found them. Also bought the Drift weave in dark blue - great for an everyday shoe that I can slip on and head out. Lots of compliments on both.

Holy Moly!

by Greg — October 26, 2015 8:16:12 AM PDT
The first thing I said when I picked these boots up was "Wow - these are light!". Then once I put them on and went for a quick walk I said "Wow - these are comfy!". Net, net: these boots are amazing. A total game changer. They fit true to size and I'm a fan for sure.
