The BEST shoe EVER

by Keith — January 3, 2017 8:06:43 PM PST
I was kinda skeptical about buying a shoe i could not try on first, but i took a chance because of the guarantee. When i received my shoes i put them on and WOW they fit perfect and were very comfortable, I wore them the rest of the day. That weekend i wore them when i went fishing and couldnt believe how much pain my feet where NOT in after 8 hours on the deck of my boat. I have recommended these shoes to many other anglers i am associated with and highly recommend them to anyone on there feet. Most comfortable shoe I own. I will be buying more. Thanks Soft Science...

I have to say, these are the MOST comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Hands down! The quality and craftsmanship is topnotch as well. If you have problems with your feet or you're just wanting a really comfortable pair of shoes for work, get a pair of Soft Science. You will NOT regret it. I just ordered 2 pair!

Florida Fishing

I have worn a lot of different shoes over the years and never found one that was a better boat shoe than the FIN. Some shoes would be great in one area but lacking in another. The Fin has it all. It is extremely comfortable which makes my feet and knees feel better at the end of the day but it also has great drains that keep them dry.
The Fin is as good of an all around boat shoe as there is. It has good drainage for when they get wet, a great non-marking sole with good grip, and the comfort level is second to none. After long days on the boat the extreme comfort and dryness of the Fin shoe by Softscience leave me legs and feet feeling great, no more tired feet at the end of the day. They feel rested and ready to get after them the next day!

Foot paIn help

by Capt. Mark — June 27, 2016 9:09:43 AM PDT
Thank you -- I wore these all day on the fishing boat and I have plantar fasciitis, with awful burning and foot pain daily. These shoes saved my feet and made for a great day! Have not taken them off since. Wash and wear very well -- buying the Camoflauge Skiff style now.

Perfect boat shoes

by Kyle — June 24, 2016 7:58:13 AM PDT
No doubt in my mind that these are the best shoes for fishing and boating on the market! These are the only shoes that I can wear without having to put any inserts to support my feet. I can fish all day and not worry about any foot pain at all!!

Thor III Tournament Win wearing Fins

by John T — June 22, 2016 10:57:40 AM PDT
As a crew member of the Thor III boat at the Star Island Shark Tournament, I bought a pair of the khaki FINS. They looked comfortable and the built-in water drainage caught my eye. My boat caught the largest shark of the tournament as well as the largest mako shark ever caught in 30 years of this tournament….730 lbs. I wore the shoes all day (first day on my feet, no blisters, great arch support, felt very comfortable) and I was very pleased. They drain very well and I highly recommend them as a fishing shoe -- I have worn many different brands over the years and these Fins are outstanding shoes. Also, they don't smell! Cleaned up very well! Highly recommend.

I LOVE these shoes...

by H2O Hound — June 19, 2016 12:02:40 PM PDT
I bought these shoes in April and have wore them every day since(approx 60 - 70 days). Bar bone, the best shoe I have ever purchased. I am on the water 2 - 3 times per week; and these Fins dry out inside an hour. Very impressed with the comfort. Can't say enough about these shoes. I am planning buying a couple other pair for use in other occasions. Haven't seen any wear or tear either. Get em, you'll Love them.

Great product

by Kenny (Urban Outlaw Fishing) — June 13, 2016 1:05:07 PM PDT
Love this shoe for fishing, I can't believe how comfortable they are in and out of the water, perfect for shore fishing and would be great for boaters who like to park on shore. And how they clean up everything is water proof and cleans up with just water! I Highly recommend these for anyone who goes fishing on a regular basis! The Fin is the best shoe for fishing.

The best river shoes

by Wade P. — June 11, 2016 12:50:27 PM PDT
I've been wearing these fishing on the river over 30 times. I walk I'm and out of the river, through mud, over rocks and these grip my feet and the water drains quickly. With all this abuse, they still look brand new. Very comfortable. My one wish is that you made this in a boot as well. I do extreme canoe trips and have to wear boots to protect the ankles. Boots are great but leave the feet wet. This combination would make an unbeatable combination and would definitely be my next pair from soft acience.

Excellent Shoe For Kayaking

by Jeff Kayak — May 9, 2016 9:23:28 PM PDT
I have been looking for a good shoe for kayak fishing that would suit my purposes here in San Diego and also in Baja Mexico. This shoe is really an excellent shoe for fishing especially on a kayak. It is a wider shoe which is great for me and it has excellent drainage when you are walking in the water. The sole is very good on rough terrain and protects you on the beach from rocks and even from sting rays that may be roaming around. They are extremely comfortable with a removable sole and great for walking around town after fishing. I have been looking for a shoe like this for quite awhile and happy that I have found it. Most shoes for kayaking are not wide in the toe and very few of them drain at all. Check out these shoes if you are a kayaker or a boater.

Yak Angling

I have the Fin for kayaking and it has excellent qualities for kayak fishing - feet dry and no smell. I hose them out, quick drying. Thanks, great fishing shoe.

My Fin observations

by Love the woods — February 15, 2016 7:44:28 PM PST
I bought the Fin because I hike a lot along a stream and it makes it easier to cross the stream at times and walk in the stream for a distance. Years ago I backpacked for many years and tried many different boots and methods for frequent stream crossings and then back to dry land hiking, so I've tried a decent amount of methods. Where I hike now there is a lot of thorny vines and heavy brush to walk through so I was concerned about the netting on the Fin getting ripped up. After going out there to hike on several occasions, the netting still looks great with no ripping. It's also very rocky in areas on the sides of the stream and in the stream. The Fin never slipped on wet or dry rocks, not even on the rocks with moss. Plus, I purposely stepped on pointed rocks to see how they felt on the bottom of my foot and it was all comfortable. Even walking up and down very steep hills the grip was great. Walking across rocks the Fin held my foot securely, meaning my feet did not slide side to side which makes me more prone to twisting an ankle. So for dry hiking, the Fin was wonderful in all those conditions.

Then I did wet testing by walking in the stream with wool socks and then hiking a good ways on dry land. My feet did not get dry and the socks stayed wet (no surprise) but my feet were just as comfortable in wet socks as they were in the dry socks. No sliding side to side either. Then I tried hiking with no socks. Again, very secure hiking on uneven big rocks. Where that changed is when I walking in the stream without wearing socks. Then my wet feet would slide side to side on uneven surfaces, but not real bad. I then walked on dry land with no socks in my wet shoes and I missed the secure feeling of my feet not sliding in the shoes, so I dried my feet and inside of the shoes very quickly and it was very good then. Still, I'll just wear socks ALL the time from now on since that gives me a secure no side to side slipping no matter what. If I feel the need for dry socks at any point, then I can just take off the wet ones and put on a dry pair as the other pair drys out.

Walking through a lot of water with socks on in the shoes, the water drains very quickly. I never had the feeling of heavy shoes due to water not escaping. The same with socks off but again, I don't like the feeling as much as having socks on.

So now the Fin are my dry hiking shoes on all terrains and my wet shoes for shallow or deep stream crossings or stream walking. Since it is so thorny and brushy where I hike, I always wear long pants that covers my ankles which also covers the top of the shoe opening. The reason I say that is because I never got any small rocks in my shoes that found their way in the opening, and the lacing does cinch that area smaller when tightened giving the shoe a very secure feeling to the foot and at the same time closing the area much better to prevent rocks from getting in.

Granted, I'm not familiar with the variety of boat shoes by experience, so which is best and how the Fin stands out in that regards, I don't know. But as a hiking/backpacking shoe, I love them. I love the comfort, secure footing, cushion, toe room, flex, lightness and looks that make it my one shoe that is all I need for the woods in my wet/dry conditions. Very happy with them, much more than I expected to be.

Notes on fit

by Fishy Guy — January 7, 2016 5:21:12 AM PST
Really like these shoes and they have become my go-to for all my warm weather fishing and boating. Just a note on fit since I am a 10.5 and you don't offer half sizes. I tried both the 10 and the 11 since I wasn't sure which way to go. I definitely say go down if you are in the middle as the generous fit gives you more room then a standard boat shoe. I have an average width foot. Just my two cents!

Love my Fins

by Capt. A — August 3, 2015 2:22:33 PM PDT
Can't say enough great things about my Fins shoes. I wear them on my charters and find them to be extremely comfortable all day. They grip the deck as well as any boat shoe have ever worn. After an 8 hour day my feet and legs feel great. And I almost forgot, they dry over night and look great..

A Customer For Life

by D.B. — August 3, 2015 7:57:35 AM PDT
Being in the fishing industry means I am constantly on my feet, in and out of water, and walking trade shows. I wear the Fin almost everyday now. I can honestly say it is the most comfortable water shoe I have ever worn. I am a customer for life!

Relieved Pain

by Eddie — July 29, 2015 9:34:19 AM PDT
As a Florida fishing captain, I’ve been wearing the Fin shoes on and off the water and they are the most comfortable shoes available on the market. I’ve had knee problems for about 5 years now do to sporting injuries and vibration onboard boats. I have to say my SoftScience shoes have really relived pain on my knees after a long day on the water. Another great feature is the Fin’s ability to drain water, making it easy to deal with wet shoes while fishing or cleaning your boat. Thank you!

Beyond Impressed

by A.C. — July 29, 2015 9:30:23 AM PDT
I've been wearing the Fin shoes and love the comfort. The shoes are honestly the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I’ve owned many crocs, and my preferred boat shoe, up until now, has been Columbia or Sperry. I’m really looking forward to getting a few more pair of different shoes and the flip-flops that are available! Can’t speak highly enough... I’m beyond impressed with the Fins.
