James R. Latimer
Mr. Latimer has headed Explore Horizons, Incorporated, a privately-held exploration and production company based in Dallas, Texas, for the past 15 years. He is also a partner in Blackhill Partners, a Dallas-based financial advisory firm serving clients in the energy and technology businesses. Previously, Mr. Latimer was co-head of the regional office of what is now the Prudential Capital Group in Dallas, Texas, where he handled energy and other financing what is now Prudential Financial, Inc. He was a director of Prize Energy and its audit committee chairman from October 2000 until its acquisition by Magnum Hunter Resources in March 2002, and he continued as a director and the audit committee chairman of Magnum Hunter until October 2004. Mr. Latimer has been a director of Enron Creditors Recovery Corporation, f/k/a Enron Corporation, since 2004 and was a director, audit committee member, and compensation committee chairman of Energy Partners Ltd. (NYSE: EPL) in 2008 and 2009. In addition, Mr. Latimer’s prior experience includes senior executive positions with several private energy companies, consulting with the firm of McKinsey & Co., service as an officer in the United States Army Signal Corps and several corporate directorships. Mr. Latimer graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Yale University in 1968 and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1970. He has received the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant designations.
