SailFin

by Leo — November 12, 2018 6:41:36 PM MST
I'v been sailing for 50 years and I've always worn boat shoes but was never really happy. Th leather stretches when wet and takes along time to dry and the soles don't really grip the deck and can be outright slippery. My family sent me a pair and they are the most comfortable boat shoe I've ever worn, the water runs through them so no problem with stretching or drying and most important they actually grip the deck. Boat shoes in this country are also twice the price and more and last only 2 years. I'm waiting to see how long these last but everything else ticks all the boxes. You need someone in this country Australia to sell your shoes. Although they would probably triple the price.

Great Shoes!

All soft science shoes are great shoes, the most comfortable I have ever worn in my fifty three years of shoe wearin'. The SailFin is roomier in the forefoot than the Fin 2.0. Additionally, since the material in the heel is thinner with no rawhide cord, you can fold the heel under and wear them as slip-ons. I'd give my eye teeth for a pair in green!

Sizing & Fit Guide

SoftScience™ shoes are designed and engineered to provide a roomy and generous fit.

Our shoes come in whole sizes only, so if you normally wear a 9.5, choose your SoftScience™ shoe in a size 10. This generous fit feels secure, but not snug, and allows for breathability, ventilation and healthy foot circulation to keep you comfortable.

Wide fit

For an ideal fit, have a gap of at least half a pinky finger on either side of your heel and above your instep.

Generous length

With wiggle room in the front of the shoe, your toes shouldn’t touch.

Comfortable heel

Your heel shouldn’t rest against the back of the shoe and may ride up and down slightly.

The Trileon™ Insole
Trillion&trade

At the core of the SoftScience™ shoes’ construction and personality is a proprietary material called Trileon™ — a closed cell copolymer developed by Scott Seamans exclusively for SoftScience™. The unique properties of Trileon™ — cushioned, stable and lightweight — allow us to produce a shoe weighing just six to ten ounces that is comfortable with high-impact resistance and support. Trileon™ is used in the shoes’ durable outsole and in the removable, washable insole. The outsole and insole combine to produce the unique comfort experience, which is the “WOW” factor in all SoftScience™ shoes.

The Trileon™ insole provides superior comfort and stability, but you can also remove and replace it with your own custom orthotic.
